You are certainly correct and totally within the "Rules" of the character bazaar. Fortunately we as denizens of the eve universe have not been forced to live under the extreme scrutiny of a totalitarianism rule of the CCP Dictatorship. We still have the freedom to excerise some of our own policing. When I made my offer I was trying to be fair and honest with you and abide by your wish to not engage in a haggleing debate over your character. You felt you knew the value of your character and I felt I should treat you with respect and make an offer you would agree would be fair.
This is how it went down. I made you a fair offer you accepted. While I was gathering the funds to pay you (mind you I asked for only 30 min as I cannot control the speed at which CCP processes their transactions) Someone walks by and decides oh well it is up to 18 Bil I will toss up 20 Bil. This would be like any other transaction in life where we have made a deal and I am in my wallet getting the money together and you accept some other smoes offer on an item you just sold.
It baffles me how eve players and devs and well I stopped going to the events some 5 years ago but "community" is tossed around with such utter disregard to all that is natural about the coexistance of a multinational game. Lets face it folks, once eve took off autoflagging for targeting another player in hi sec this game has just become a bloodbath of what and who you can screw first before they screw you. I doubt it is recoverable and the funny thing is guys like this spout the rules like what they are doing is covered so it is perfectly ok. So what if I am a complete a-hole. I am covered by this rule so I got over.
Society in eve has degraded past the recoverable point that I think most will agree on. Anyone who has sat in the local channel in Jita for more than 10 minutes, well it doesn't take a rocket scienist. What I am concerned for is not this silly game and I could care less about this jackwagon as he is either 16 or has never left his mothers basement. I am concerned for our children and well maybe his children. Because he actually thinks what he did was ok and deep down he knows it wasn't because no creative, free thinking, sentient being could and noone has to spout rules to back up anything that they don't have to defend.
I have the luxury of having served my country with honor through some of the most trying times the world has ever known. I am retired and am just sitting back watching watching the behavior of my generation, my childrens generation and your generation. It isn't going so well and again that doesnt take a rocket scientist either. You all are on a hot path to nowhere. I think I was better off dodging bullets.
I am sure you are going to flame me and I don't care. I was just entertaining the idea of coming back to eve as I rotated back to the US and out of the Army. I was blessed with the time I spent here from 2003 to 2005 and again in 2008 to 2010 and knew I would probably need to kickstart an account after not being able to play for so many years. You know us old timers didn't have the luxury of setting our account to learn for a year plus.
Anyway, now you have an A OK Day. my two cents are spent. |
